More than 5,000 years ago, the Chinese discovered how to make silk from silkworm cocoons. For about 3,000 years, the Chinese kept this discovery a secret. Because poor people could not afford real silk, they tried to make other cloth look silky. Women would beat on cotton with sticks to soften the fibers. Then they rubbed it against a big stone to make it shiny. The shiny cotton was called “chintz.” Because chintz was a cheaper copy of silk, calling something “chintzy” means it is cheap and not of good quality.

When the intruding army would climb the stairs they would not be able to use their right hand which was holding the sword because of the difficulties of climbing the stairs. Left-handed knights would have had no troubles, except left-handed people could never become knights because it was assumed that they were descendants of the devil.

I know what you’re thinking and no, it is not that Mr. Bacon (sorry, Kevin). This is Archie McPhee’s board game, which they are calling “by far the most mouth-watering, meatcentric board game ever created!” As you move your bacon character along the path through Meatland you’ll navigate your way through areas like the Mustard Marsh, the Wiener Wasteland and the Sausage Sea. The first one to make it to the frying pan at the end of the trail wins! Maybe they should team up with the guys that invented the meat card.

Riddle: What happens when you start out with 100% beef jerky, and SEAR your contact information into it with a 150 WATT CO2 LASER?
Answer: Meat Cards!

No pretty boy foil lettering or embossed logos. These cards consist only of meat and laser etching. Yes, they are edible, so if you aren’t impressed with your new business acquaintance, you can always eat his meat card for a snack. According to the manufacturer, ” MEAT CARDS do not fit in a Rolodex, because their deliciousness CANNOT BE CONTAINED.”
While they are not quite yet ready for sale, they have gotten some buzz across the web. Recently, they got a plug on G4’s Attack of the Show. Here’s the clip:
